ABHAYA GATHA          GeeBees / GeeBees

Yam dun nimitam avamangalanca
Yo ca manapo sakunassa saddo

AGGO HAMASMI LOKASSA                     GeeBees / GeeBees

Aggo hamasmi lokassa
Jetto hamasmi lokassa
Settho hamasmi lokassa
Natthi dani punna bhavo

Chief am I in all the world
There is no equal to me
I am supreme, this's my last birth
There is no rebirth for me

ANGULIMALA                                        Sujatha Hettiarchchi

"Stop thee ! Oh saffron princely monk
Who hasten on like falling rain
I want a finger from thy foot
To finish off my bloody chain"

"I do not run, you run instead
Please stop awhile and follow me
Angulimal, I'm not content
To know that thou are not yet free"

"Please throw that bloody chain aside
There is a better, nobler way
To live thy life and reach thy truth
Angulimal, for you today"

And hours went by the Indian time
While Buddha's sinless way he heard
And sinner changed to blessed saint
And preached he out the hallowed word

ANTHEM OF UNITY

In unity we stand
In harmony we strive
The Cause shall never end
As long as we're alive
We're one, we're one
Always, always
We're one always
One Cause, one cause enfolding us
Along Dhamma's Way

One cosmic brotherhood
One purpose moulding us
Bringing us all to good
Kindling the Light in us
Strive on, strive on
Heedfully, heedfully
Strive on heedfully
Along, along the Eightfold Way
To Nirvana's Day.

ARISE ARISE

Arise, Arise all Buddha's soldiers true
And take your stand upon the rock of Truth!
The Holy Law by Lord Buddha taught
Shall evermore endure,
And all who journey in its light
Shall reach Nirvana's shore.
In love we stand , by Truth set free;
Brothers of Him who found true Liberty.

In bygone days on India's distant shore,
Lord Buddha taught to men the Holy Law;
Today we come like the knights of old
Our loyalty to proclaim,
In calm or storm, in life or death
We faithful will remain,
So shall we stand, steadfast and firm,
Like brothers one in Buddha's Holy Law.

And ere we part, our homage we renew,
Taking our refuge in our Blessed Lord;
Then forth we'll go the Dhamma's might
To teach the Holy way;
To scatter far the gloom of night
And lead men to Truth's day,
Till all the earth with one accord,
Shall trust the Dharma or our Blessed Lord.

BE GOOD, BE JUST AND BE RIGHT                GeeBees / GeeBees

Our Lord Buddha has found the way
The only way to free us all
He showed the way to end our sorrows
To free ourselves from this suffering world

Through His Guidance we found peace
   Of greed and hatred ceased
The truth will always be our guide
   That leads to endless light

The golden sun that shines above
Be mindful of our Buddha's love
The Dhamma as our only guide
We must be good and be just and be right

BEYOND THE SUNSET

Beyond the sunset
I see a brand new morning
I see a brand new beginning
Beyond the sunset
I hear sweet voices singing
Welcome joyous morning

Beyond the sunset
Beyond the mountain
Beyond the valley
We shall go

Beyond the sunset
Just like the river
To one another
Our love shall always flow

Beyond the sunset
I hear my faith is calling
I hear it roars from within
Beyond the sunset
I vow to spread His wisdom
And build a brand new kingdom

Raise high your voices
Sing out His Wisdom
And if they listen
They shall know
Banish your passion
And all illusions
Live with diligent
And then the Truth shall show

Beyond the sunset
I see my joy is glowing
I see the Truth's light is shining
Beyond the sunset
I see it shines so bright
I see it shines with glory

Raise high your spirit
And love each other
And walk together
In His Truth
To all living things
To all living beings
The Dhamma shall shine
And shine for peace and good

BIMBISARA

The timid sheep and raven goats
Came down the distant hilly path
'Twas Bimbisara's sacrifice
Upon the altar of his hearth

But lo! a rishi entered through
The palace of the famous king,
And loosed the victim goat that lay
Upon  the altar offering.
And Bimbisara folding palms
He drew towards the saint-like Prince,
And listened to the jewelled words
Evicted in his country since.

"Strike not, and thus slay not, oh king;
"Nor taste the flesh of any life,
"The life you take you cannot give."
And every priest threw down his knife.

And Bimbisara prayed him to
Remain awhile and wisdom teach,
But he declined the offer, said
"I strive great king the truth to reach".

"All gifts your love on me bestow
"Enjoyed them in my father's land
"With every fall of foot I trace
"The truth upon life's ageless sand.

"So farewell, lord , I'll come again,
"Requite your kindness and your love,
"When I have garnered all the lore
"That crows me king below, above ! "

BLESSED DAY OF LOVE'S FULFILLMENT

Blessed day of love's fulfillment,
Welcome happy wedding day
Joy and song attend thy coming,
Flow'rs adorn the bridal way

Blessed day of Love's fulfillment
When before the sacred shrine
Vows in faith and truth are spoken
Sanctified by Love Divine

Blessed day of love's fulfillment,
May the joyous dawn assure,
Fortune's gifts in richest measure,
Happiness that shall endure,

Blessed day of love's fulfillment ,
Symbol of that time to be,
When with Truth in holiest union,
We shall dwell eternally.

BLESSED REFUGES, THE

O Blessed One! The greatest of mankind
Thou Gracious Master, filled with love divine
Gracious Thy life, so sweet, so great, so pure
Thou mighty Light, Thou Blessed One so dear
Lord, at Thy feet I seat myself to learn
The wisdom of Thy life and Law
Plainly I see the Truth which Thou does teach;
Sorrow and pain and self shall be no more

Into my heart there comes a lasting peace;
Within my mind there glows a wondrous light.
All tears and sorrow, doubts and worries cease,
For Truth and Joy Thy glorious Teaching brings,

I take my refuge in The Glorious Lord,
No other shelter shall I need,
I take my refuge in the Law and Sangha,
Which freedom bring and Light forevermore

BODHISATTVA

Let me a pure white lotus be
Unfolding in Samsara's stream,
Let all the gloom of misery
Be gathered in my lotus dream;
Let each dew drop that studded lie
On each white radiant fold
Reflect the mercy of the law
That turns death's bliss to gold

Let every wave that tumbles down
Their curdled slime of wrath, repair
To lotus roots of dusky brown
In my compassion's bounty share
Let every spark of vengeance rowed
Round lotus stalks entwine
And greed and lies transformed by love
In lotus heart enshrine

When each life drop has sped away
Across my pure white lily door
When I have drained all sorrow may
1 speed to deck that lustless floor
Let every petal softly fold
In summer's golden shine
Retreat to claim the splendid prize-
Nirvana's joy last Mine!

BODHI DAY, THE

On this great day our Holy Prince of Peace,
From sorrow's chain has found release:
Self is no more, banished the clouds of night,
Upon mankind hath shined the light.
                                                                                                   CHORUS
Rejoice ye people, sing the Buddha's praises,
Who hath found Nirvana's bliss today
Follow His Pathway, dwell in love together
Show to the nations the Eightfold Way

O let us tell the story of His Love,
The toils He bore to find the Way,
The weary years He wandered in the night,
Before he saw the Truth's bright ray.

He found the way to everlasting peace,
Nirvana's state where sufferings cease,
The gate lies open, all may walk therein,
And freedom find from death and sin.

The Sun of Truth dispels the mists of night,
And round us sheds its holy Light;
No more shall powers of ignorance hold sway;
At least hath dawned the Wesak Day.

BODHI TREE

In the forest dense and wild
Providing shade for fierce and mild
Beloved by both man and child
The Holy Bodhi stands.

In the city's sun-browned heart
Where the highways meet and part
Beneath whose shade the sparrow’s dart
The Holy Bodhi stands.

Down the river's fertile shore
Where young meet for Dhamma's lore
Enshrined within a pilgrim door
The Holy Bodhi stands.

Years by thousands have gone by
Since that Indian Prince did sigh
And where became the Buddha high
The Holiest Bodhi stands.

BUDDHA IS MY REFUGE, THE

To all the Buddhas of the ancient days,
To all the Buddhas of all future time,
We offer veneration evermore.

To all the Buddhas of the ancient days,
To all the Buddhas of the present age,
We offer veneration evermore.

For me there is no other refuge
The Buddha is my refuge,
He is the best, He is the best,
By the power of the Truth,
May I attain the glorious victory.

BUDDHA LORD IN THINE EMBRACE

Buddha, Lord, in Thine embrace,
We our children dear would place,
I n the dawn of life to be,
Consecrated, Lord to Thee.

To Thy guardianship benign,
We our loved ones would assign,
To be welcomed to Thy fold,
As Rahula was of old.

Coming thus in tender youth,
Unto Thee, O lord of Truth
May Thy Word their hearts impress,
With the seal of holiness.

Guide our precious ones, dear Lord,
Constantly Thine aid afford,
Till this earthly life is done,
And Nirvana's glory is won

BUDDHA'S CHILD

We are but little children weak,
Nor born to any high estate,
What can we do for Buddha's sake
Who is so high and good and great,

Oh, day by day each little child,
Has much to do without within,
The selfish thought to banish for
The victory of love to win.

BUDDHA'S LAW OF LOVE & LIGHT

There is a Light, a wondrous light,
It shines from Buddha's temple bright
Setting the Path aglow
There is a psalm, a hold psalm
That tells of one so wise and calm
In India long ago.

There is a Law, a perfect Law,
Taught by the Lord on Ganges shore,
Who understands is blest;
There is a Way, a Way of peace,
Who follows it will find release,
From self, and be at rest.

There is a Love, a perfect Love,
That spans all life below, above,
Within its arms so wide;
This Love shall drive all hate away,
And turn the darkness into day,
And all our footsteps guide.

May Buddha's Law of Love and Light,
Teach us Thy Way so pure and bright,
And Love that cannot cease;
Thy Sangha helps us learn of Thee,
All we should do, all we should be,
How to attain true peace.

BUDDHA'S SOLDIERS

Have you heard the sound of footsteps
As of soldiers marching on?
Nave you seen their banners waving?
Have you heard their battle song?
Have you watch'd their blazing torches
Lighting up their columns long?
Have you heard the sound of footsteps
As of soldiers marching on?

Yes, we heard their footsteps thunder
In the watches of the night
And we saw their banners waving
By their torches' flaring light
And the stirring songs they shouted
Filled our hearts with strange delight
Yes, we heard their footsteps thunder
In the watches of the night

It was sad to see them marching
To some battlefield of pain,
There to leave their youthful bodies
Mid the fallen and the slain
That some earthly king or monarch
On his golden throne might reign
It was sad to see them marching
To some battlefield of pain

Nay, these are the Buddha's soldiers
And the foe they seek to slay
Is illusion's self that hinders
Mankind's progress day by day
Righteousness the sword they carry
Wisdom's torch that lights their way
Nay, these are the I3uddla's soldiers
And the foe they seek to slay

For no earthly king or monarch
Do they march to meet the fight
But to spread the Buddha's Teaching
Dim the darkness of our night
And to crown the Truth triumphant
In the splendor of Love's Light
For no earthly king or monarch
Do they march to meet the fight

BUDDHIST CHILDREN

Kings and Princes offer,
Precious gifts of gold
And in Buddha's temple
Pour their wealth untold

But we little children
Ever frail and small
Are too poor to offer
Any gift at all

Little hands may gather
Blossoms of the spring
And these fragrant flowers
To His temple bring.

Little lips may utter
Words of Holy praise
And in Buddha's temple
Hymns of gladness raise.

Little feet may journey
In His Holy Way
And by righteous actions
Close to Buddha stay.

There are none so tiny
For they too may bring
Hearts of love and kindness
To their Lord and King.

BUDDHIST DOXOLOGY

Bright shineth the sun in his splendor by day
And bright the moon radiance by night
Bright shineth the hero in battle array
And the sage in his thought shineth bright

But by day and by night none so glorious and bright
As lord Buddha, the Source of all Spiritual Light
But by day and by night none so glorious and bright
As lord Buddha, the Source of all Spiritual Light.

CHILDREN OF THE BUDDHA

Children of the Buddha
Proudly now we stand
Raising high His standard
In this eastern land
Buddha's teaching spreadeth
Universal peace
Where His name is honoured
Hate and strive shall cease

Children of the Buddha
We must strive to show
Truth and love and kindness
Where soever we go
Purity, obedience
Faith and courage strong
These shall light our journey
As we march along

As we climb life's mountain
Clouds will disappear
Buddha's love surrounding
All who persevere
Grief and pain departing

Ignorance will ceased
On our hearts descending
Blest Nirvana's peace.

CLIMB THE PATH WITH GLADNESS

Climb the Path with gladness
In the field of life
Vanquishing illusion
Ignorance and strife
Brotherhood and service
Shall our motto be
And the goal before us
Truth and liberty
We will teach Thy Dhamma
Wheresoe're we go
Wisdom, Love, compassion
In our actions show

We must stand together
Fighting side by side
Truth is undivided
This must be our guide
All divisions vanish
Where the Truth is known
This the greatest lesson
By Lord Buddha shown
Forward marching ever
In the Dhamma's might
Till we lead the nations
Into endless light.

CONSECRATED LORD TO THEE

Buddha Lord in Thine embrace
We our marriage vows would place
That our wedded life may be
Consecrated Lord to Thee

To Thy guardianship benign
We our marriage would assign
To be welcomed to Thy Fold
As Jambunada was of old

Coming thus in days of youth
Unto Thee, O Lord of Truth,
May Thy Words our hearts impress
With the seal of Holiness

Guide our heartfelt vows, dear Lord,
Constantly Thine aid afford,
Till this earthly Life is done
And Nirvana's Peace is won.

DAWN OF DHAMMA                                    Mano Cheang / Mano Cheang

It's by far the hardest night
When darkness seems to fall
When light of Truth is lighten up
It will shine for all

May it shine and always glow
The Dhamma's Light will show
Its path of Truth to everyone
For those who do not know

Its gleam of brightness will remain
To guide us in every way
Striving now and then again
Till we reach Nibbana's Day

DAY OF GLORY                                     Victor Wee

Under the sacred Bo-Tree
Whilst Good and Ill warring He
For victory held the world enthrall
Sat He who left worldly joys

Earth shook and mighty forest
Trembled like slender reeds
Thunder pealed and monstrous form
Of fear and sin revealed

La la la,  la la la,  la la la,  la la la
La la la la la la la .....
La la la,  la la la,  la la la,  la la la
La la la la la la la .....(To bless us all)

There came a blessed morning
The sun rose radiantly
He attained Enlightenment
A Bliss denied to none

Around His seat the flowers sprang
Sweet music filled the air
And every being came with joy
To pray to the Lord Buddha there

DAY OF MARRIAGE

Buddha, Lord, we offer
On this marriage day,
Offerings of the brightest
Blossoms choice and gay

Incense too we offer
On this festal day
That the love we cherish
May not fade away.

Through this holy symbol
We shall learn to see
Truth of priceless value
Hid in transiency

Wedding music soundings
Bids us forget self
And in Buddha's teaching
Find the truest wealth

Lights upon the altar
Show to us the way
From the realms darkness
To the Dhamma Way

Unto Him we offer
Veneration deep
May He aid us ever
Today's vow to keep.

DEATH                                        Sujatha Hettiarchchi / Victor Wee

With this Wesak crowd, a woman winds her way
A shawl thrown on her shoulder, of weary limb and grey

She lost her only son, two weeks ago today
The tears do flow so freely, this holy Wesak day

She lights her little lamp, she burns the scented sticks
She places blooms on the altar, then kneels on marble bricks

She hears the Master's words, repeated by the monks
"All this will pass away, we are as  people drunk"

"We are but clay that melts, our deeds alone remain
The rest will always perish until Nirvana gain"

"Today we live, next day we die, as all things born
But actions as our Karma, we reap what we have sown"

Her eyes were dry, she felt the dreams of life a farce
Only good and noble action would to nothingness pass

DHAMMACAKKRA, THE

When we see the Dharma-wheel
Shining with each turn
We are thus reminded
Of our Lord's concern

Concern for every mortal
That each might find release
From the round of sorrow
Into perfect peace.

ESSENCE OF THE DOCTRINE

Namo Tassa Bhavagato Arahato Samma Sambuddhassa
The Buddha did the cause unfold
Of all the things that sprang from causes
And further the Great Sage had told,
How finally their passion pauses
Praise Ye the Lord
The Blessed One, the Holy One
The Enlightened One.

ETERNAL REFUGE, THE

We thirst for something lasting, something real
In this our world of constant change and strive
A spot wherein our spirits may find rest
Amid the storms and agony of life.

But while we seek confused by things of sense
Bewildered by the calls of self and sin
We oft forget the words Lord Buddha spoke
The gateway of Nibbana lies within

So are there depths within the spirit hid
Where storms and winds of passion never blow
And all who rest within this hallowed spot
The hidden joys of Truth shall surely know.

EVENING GATHA

Shadows o'er the earth are stealing
Soon the darkness will descend
Gladly we around Thee gather
Teacher, Master, Guide and Friend

When that last long darksome twilight
All the lights of earth shall hide
Truth within its arms shall hold us,
Bearing us across death's tide.

Ever onward, ever upward
Gently held in Love's embrace
Till we reach Nirvana's summit
And behold Truth face to face.

FAREWELL

Evermore in mem'ry we shall treasure
The golden hours we spent with you
Hours that brought to us in fullest measure
All the blessings and the joys of friendship true

CHORUS:
Farewell to you our friend so true
May Love and Truth Eternal guide you
And Love divine upon your path way shine
Until we meet again

We have bowed with you in sweet communion
Before the Buddha's Holy Shrine
And no parting o'er can rend the union
Of our spirits in His Brotherhood divine

FAREWELL MY FRIEND

Good health and peace to you
My dear fellow friends
Farewell, farewell
May the blessings of the Triple Gem
Always be with you
Farewell, farewell

Salam terakhir, salam terakhir
Salam, salam
Bertemu lagi, berjumpa lagi,
Salam, salam.

FARE YE WELL                            Sujatha Hettiarchchi / Victor Wee

My fond young wife, oh fare ye well
I leave your side to come again
A sage of sages, king of kings
This holy hour though full of pain

This palace vast is small to me
I cannot breathe nor lie at rest
The vaster world bids me to leave
This vanity for what is best

So fare thee well, my only son
Reclining in the mother's arms
I go to build the realm of truth
Hence leave I all with folded palms

And mount my horse, and fly through time
To conquer pain and birth and death
To find a way to reach that Bliss
I leave behind this passing wealth

My fond young wife, oh fare ye well

FLOWER OF MANKIND                    Sujatha Hettiarchchi / Victor Wee

Rohini rippled its water
Tinged with the moonlit tide
Mountainous high Sumeru
Gazed on with wondering pride

Planets in their starry orbits
Stopped for a while in pace
Gods in their shaken heavens
Down to the earth they race

Birds in their flaming feathers
Beasts in their vest of gold
Fish on the water's surface
Make themselves dare be bold

Skies grey have lost their darkness
Silvered moon shines instead
Lotuses open in glory
Honouring Gautama great!

He's sundered life's big secret
He's measured life's big dawn
He knows the way and watchword
Flower of Mankind is born

FOUR SIGHTS, The                           Awakenings / Awakenings

If a man could live a meaningful life
If a man can open his eyes
Take a look at the world, do realise
...  the things we wonder why

The old man is weak, so wrinkled and dry
The sick is moaning in pain
The dead wouldn't know, no feelings to show
...  Oh, where can we hide

There must be a way, the wise used to say
The answer is far away
Where shall I go, whom shall I seek
I must leave this misery
Ooh ..........

GARDENS Of LUMBINI

By the gardens, the gardens of Lumbini
We knelt down rejoiced
Rejoiced for Siddhartha
We remember, we remember
We remember Gotama.

GAYA

The lonely winds of Gaya
Sweep o'er the sacred shrine
The words of a holy Master
Stir within my mind

The solitude of Gaya
It drifts a song to me
Recalling the golden Dhamma
Thro' Samsara's sea

The sands of distant Gaya
They sing of the Bodhi-tree
'Neath which attained He wisdom
And found the Way for me.

GO FORTH, O VALIANT HEART

Go forth, O valiant heart, go bravely forth,
To seek in Buddha's Law the lasting peace
Bravely He sought thru years of toil and pain,
The Holy Path which leads to endless peace.

Go forth, o valiant heart, look not behind,
Where earthly joys thy feet would seek to bind;
Before thee waits fair Wisdom's open page,
Where thou the treasures of the Truth shalt find.

Go forth today in Buddha's Holy Path,
And in His teaching find eternal peace,
Through His Great Dhamma thou shalt learn the Truth,
And reach Nirvana's state where sorrows cease.

GOLDEN CHAIN OF LOVE

I'm a link in His golden chain of love
I'm a link in His golden chain of love
I'm a link in the Buddha's golden chain of love
That stretches around the world

I must keep my link bright & strong
I must keep my link bright & strong
I must keep my link ever bright & strong
And let it glow with joy

I'll be kind & gentle to every being
I'll be kind & gentle to every being
I'll be kind & gentle to every living being
And protect those weaker than me

I'll think pure and noble thoughts
I'll say pure and gentle words
I'll do pure and righteous noble deeds
'Cause what I do now mould my life

May every link in His chain be bright and strong
May every link in His chain be bright and strong
May every link in His chain of love be bright and strong
May we attain perfect peace

HAIL GLORIOUS DAY

Hail glorious day, when o'er the world
The light of Truth in splendor rose
For beings illusion's night
The way of Wisdom to disclose

Lord Buddha, Thee our hearts acclaim
Thou art the Sun of Righteousness
In Thee is Truth in fullness shown
Man to enlighten and to bless

Thy doctrine is the radiant glow
Which evermore proceeds from Thee
And marks the Path that onward leads
To freedom and felicity

0 may mankind, Thy light receive
From self and error turn aside
That all in peace and love may share
The joy benign of Wesak tide

HAPPINESS

Happy is the Buddhist's fate
For his heart knows not of hate
Haters may be all around
Yet in him no hate is found
Haters may be all around
Yet in him no hate is found

Chorus:
Hate is not overcome by hate
By love alone it is quelled
This is the truth of ancient date
Today still unexcelled

Happy is the Buddhist's fate
He all pining makes abate
Pining may be all around
Yet in him no pining's found
Pining may be all around
Yet in him no pining's found

Happy is the Buddhist's fate
Him no greed will agitate
In the world may greed abound
Yet in him no greed is found
In the world may greed abound
Yet in him no greed is found

Happily then let us live
Joyously our service give
Quench all pining, hate and greed
Happy is the life we lead
Quench all pining, hate and greed
Happy is the life we lead

HAPPY LITTLE CHILDREN

Happy little children we,
By the Dhamma keeping
We shall all in love and joy
Fit reward be reaping

Kindness, pity and goodwill,
We'll always be a showing
Malice, hatred, spite and fear,
From our hearts o'er throwing.

On this earth on which we dwell
Or in orbs much vaster,
Dhamma rules throughout them all,
Teachings of our Master.

We will through our life now go.
Ever forward singing
Praises of our Blessed Lord
Loud our voices ringing.

Praises to our Gracious guide
Everywhere ascending
Let us keep His Iaw and show,
Gratitude unending.

HERE TODAY GONE TOMORROW

All things are impermanent
Apply yourself with diligence
This world is filled with woe and sorrow
Here today and gone tomorrow

Fame and riches, a dream a dawn
Waking up, you will find them gone
Wealth and honour, like clouds in the sky
Shifting and changing as they pass by

Spring times flowers in the Fall they fade
Love in time will turn to hate
And this life, no, it won't last long
Just blink your eyes and it's all gone

There's no secret for happiness
Just keep working and try your best
Nothing to lose and nothing to win
Just cleanse the mind and look within

All things are impermanent
Apply yourself with diligence
This world is filled with woe and sorrow
Here today and gone tomorrow

IT'S RAINING                                     Jane Imamura / GeeBees

It's raining and raining outside today
But it's so nice inside
The ground is too wet for us to play
But indoors we keep very warm

Keep very warm, keep very warm
Keep very warm, we can keep very warm

People may trick us and be very mean
But we must keep in mind
To Buddha's great love we can always lean
And so keep our hearts very warm

LISTEN TO HIS VOICE                    D. Hunt / GeeBees

Gladly sing the children's voices
In Lord Buddha's temple bright
As they tell the wondrous story
Of His search to find Truth's Light

For how many years He wandered
In the forest dark and vast
Till one night upon His spirit
Wisdom's Holy Light was cast

Beneath the tree, the Master's seated
Found Nirvana's radiant peace
Saw before His eyes the Pathway
Whereby all men's ill shall cease

Oh, what glorious light was shining
From the Lord Buddha's gentle face
As He went to preach salvation
To the people of His race

And the people, when they heard Him
Gladly walked the Eightfold Way
Leading from the realms of darkness
Into everlasting day

So shall we, His little children
Listen to His voice so sweet
As those little Indian children
Whom He gathered at His feet

LOVE, PEACE AND JOY

Early in the morning
The sun rises above
Be mindful of Buddha’s love

Buddha taught us
To love and be kind
For love can heal the blind

 May the world be loved
 Love, peace and joy

How glorious is the Dhamma
O Blessed Lord
That spreads thy words abroad

May all evil
And hatred cease
Till we attain the bliss

 May the world be loved
 Love, peace and joy

OUR HOME MAHINDARAMA   GeeBees

Day after day, we’ll be here
Caring for one another
Feeling so warm and tender
We’ll strive and strive together

Chorus
Mahindarama, a place we call home
In MSPS, you’ll never be alone
In MSPS, that’s where we’ll always be
To learn the way of truth
That’s what it meant for me

Oh how wonderful life is
Sharing our thoughts together
With right action and service
Let’s stand together forever

Repeat Chorus

Whenever you go and roam
There’s no place just like home
Wherever you may be
Think of us your big family

Repeat Chorus

Day after day, we’ll be here
Caring for one another
Feeling so warm and tender
We’ll strive and strive together

Repeat Chorus

. . . . . in Mahindarama

PRAISE TO BUDDHA                     GeeBees

With happy children's voices
Let Buddha's temple ring
As to our Blessed Master
Our thanks and praise we bring

He shows the way that leads us
From sin and sorrow here
And if His Path we follow
No evil shall we fear

We thank Him for His Doctrine
Which shows us what to do
So that our lives may ever
Be pure and good and true

RIGHT MINDEDNESS                        A. R. Zorn / GeeBees

Constant let thine effort be
From delusion's slavery
By the Truth thy mind to free
Wisdom to attain

Break the bonds of sense desire
Holding thee in error's mire
And with all thine heart aspire
Purity to know

Strive the ego to deny
Let all selfish craving die
To all beings, low or high
Love and kindness show

Never let thine efforts cease
Till in ultimate release
And in Buddha's perfect peace
Thou has reached thy goal

SELF RELIANCE                                        Traditional / Victor Wee

By ourselves is evil done
By ourselves we pain endure
By ourselves we cease from wrong
By ourselves become we pure

No one saves us but ourselves
No one can and no one may
We ourselves must walk the Path
Buddha merely shows the way

SONG TO THE TRIPLE GEM                    Victor Wee / GeeBees

With reverent hearts we bow before
The Master's holy shrine
Peacefully we contemplate
His countenance sublime

His sacred precepts we accept
To guide us day by day
Thus follow we His footsteps
And tread the Eightfold Way

From earthly passions and desires
He sought and found release
And so may we the Truth attain
Nibbana's calm and peace

STANDING TOGETHER                            GeeBees / GeeBees

I have found the joy within my heart
The joy that builds a bridge
Don't you think that it is time
The joy grows and shines

     Chorus:
     When we stand together
     It's our finest hour
     We can do almost anything
     Believing in our aims

Like a bird that flies in our evening sky
Take away, oh take away
All imaginations and desires
To a place where love will shine

The first step is to realise
That it all begins with you and me
To walk on the Dhamma's way
The truth that's so sublime

Like a bird that flies in our evening sky
Take away, oh take away
All imaginations and desires
To a place where love will shine

STEADFASTNESS                            A. R. Zorn / GeeBees

Thead thou the path of rectitude
The precepts five observe
Lest base desire or lure of gain
Thy resolution swerve

   Let love thy spirit dominate
And let thine heart be kind
That all in sorrow, pain or need
A friend in thee may find

Pure in thy thought, thy word and deed
So let thy life be spent
And thou shall make thy progress sure
To full Enlightenment

TRI  RATANA PUJA (Indonesian)

Oh ,  Buddha  !
Pimpinlah  kami  ke  pantai  bahagia,
Pancarkan   metta , karuna , mudita , upekkha.

Oh ,  Dhamma  !
Tuntutlah  kami  ke  jalanan  nyata,
Menuju   leburnya  avija  lenyapnya  dukkha.

Hanya  dengan  Buddha,  Dhamma  ,Sangha,
Kuberlindung  dan  memuja,
Semoga  dengan  kenyataan  ini  ,
Ku  mencapai  kebebasan.

Oh ,  Sangha  !
Persaudaraan  suci  dan  mulia ,
Padanya  ku  selalu  nantikan,
Bimbingan  dhamma.

TWIG AND THE TREE                    Sumangalo / GeeBees

Gently teach the little children
How to walk the Buddha's way
Show with kindness and affection
What to do and what to say

Even as a tiny twig, if twisted
    Grows into a twisted tree
So do man and woman follow
     Patterns learned from infancy

Let us then make sure that always
Example right we clearly show
So that our youth's life may never
Down the path of evil go

Teach the young the path to follow
Show them in their days of youth
And when old they'll never waver
From Lord Buddha's Path of Truth

WE’RE BUDDHA’S LOYAL CHILDREN            Adapted / GeeBees

We’re Buddha loyal children
Marching neath His banner true
Proud to follow where He leads us
Glad His Holy will to do

Marching forward ever forward
Loyal children we will be
Neath the Buddha’s glorious banner
We will follow faithfully

Bravely forward into battle
We advance at His command
‘Gainst the power of sin and error
Facing us on every hand

When at last we stand triumphant
And the weary fight is over
Onward still our Lord shall lead us
To Nibbana’s peaceful shore
