Tenerife is one of the Canary Islands and is a wonderful choice for a holiday at any time of the year. Its location off the west coast of Africa means that it has beautiful weather all year round so whether you are looking for a holiday in midsummer or midwinter, Tenerife is the perfect choice.

Holidays to Tenerife are very popular not only because you can almost certainly be guaranteed to have good weather but also because there is so much to see and do there. There are so many fabulous beaches where you can chill out and relax or enjoy some fabulous water sports and there are also many wonderful restaurants as well as great nightlife too.

Getting to Tenerife from the UK is so easy with so many airlines offering cheap deals to this amazing location.

A mosaic of exotic cultures and cosmopolitan energy, Singapore is a truly unique and exhilarating destination. A weekend here offers much to see and do. The city boasts everything from world-class shopping and dining to beautiful beaches to interesting cultural institutions. While a weekend isn’t much time to see all of Singapore’s fascinating landmarks and attractions, it does offer enough time to see some of its most important sites. In a city so diverse and filled with contrasts, a visit to Singapore is sure to be memorable and culturally enriching.

Before embarking on a weekend trip to Singapore, try to remember to draw out an itinerary of the city’s top attractions and landmarks. It is also a good idea to keep a map on hand at all times and to research Singapore’s culture and customs extensively before visiting.

A great place to start a weekend in Singapore is in the Riverside area. The Riverside area is Singapore’s densely packed downtown core and a centre of global business, culture, politics and media. A fantastic place to start the weekend is a trip to the 1-Altitude Gallery, the city’s tallest observation deck. 1-Altitude Gallery is a great way to see Singapore from above and become acquainted with its layout. Singapore River offers many other attractions to see, including the Asian Civilisations Museum and the Cavenagh Bridge. For rest and leisure, head over to the beautiful Merlion Park.

Another popular district to visit while in Singapore for the weekend is Marina Bay. This glitzy, new district is Singapore’s entertainment epicentre. Other must-see attractions in Marina Bay include the Singapore Flyer observation wheel and the fascinating ArtScience Museum. Just remember to bring your credit cards, as this is a great place to earn rewards points as you spend.

As you wind down your weekend, try to go somewhere fun and leisurely. Check out the phenomenal beaches of Sentosa Island, just off the coast of Singapore, to relax and unwind. Another fun attraction is the Singapore Zoo, one of the largest zoos in Asia, while the Night Safari is a fantastic way to spend an evening. The Night Safari is a great way to see some of the nocturnal animals you might not see at Singapore Zoo during the day.

You will also want to check out some of the top restaurants while you are there and Singapore definitely does not disappoint in this respect. You will find a range of culinary delights from around the world, but it is also highly recommended to try some of the unique local cuisine.

With so much to see and do, weekend travellers to Singapore will find plenty of great attractions and

Some cities just don’t get enough press adulating the abounding culture that exists within its timeless boundaries. But, when cities combine the arts and entertainment into their own distinct brand, they should get recognized. Munich, Boston and Istanbul are shining stars when it comes to innovative culture.

Munich, Germany

While the churches of Munich define its skyline, the museums, palaces and parks define its culture. Outstanding European artworks from the 18th to the 20th century are housed in the Museum Pinakothek. Of focus, is the German art of the 19th century, which dates back to King Ludwig I. Works by significant German artists are represented, such as Caspar Friedrick and Wilhelm von Kaulbach. Representing the pioneers of impressionism, works of Monet, Gaugin and Renoir are showcased. In the western part of Munich, the baroque Nymphenburg Palace stands in its ornate splendour. Commissioned by Ludwig I, the symmetrical building is connected by galleries. The palace is a place of endearment for the Germans, as it represents the history of the country’s monarchs. Every year, the Germans celebrate their heritage with the Oktoberfest- the world’s largest festival. In commemoration of King Ludwig’s marriage, the grounds are filled with beer tents, dancers, amusements rides and agricultural activities that continue all month.

Boston, Massachusetts

Originally characterized by their Anglo-Saxon roots, Boston has evolved into a world of cultural diversity. While some may say Boston culture can’t stack up to New York or London culture, it certainly holds its own. The Museum of Fine Arts features an extensive and impressive collection from ancient to contemporary art. This museum also showcases special exhibits throughout the year, such as a collection from Monet. There are museums in Boston to satisfy every interest. The Museum of Science is renowned for its exhibits and interactivity. The JFK Library and Museum offers a peak into the life of one of the most beloved presidents. Live music is indigenous to Boston, and there are hundreds of venues throughout the city. The TD Garden the larger arena for acts like U2 and Madonna. Smaller pubs and cafes feature the up and coming bands. Besides museums and music venues, the theatre district is extensive. You can score a Broadway show in any of the theatres around town. Copley Square and Faneuil Hall are the two largest theatres.

Istanbul, Turkey

Old world charm and modern architecture combine the distinct culture of Istanbul. The Yerebatan Cistern Museum is home to the underground cistern which was constructed during the Byzantine time period. Constantly besieged during this era, the city always needed a fresh supply of water. Adding to the mystique of the cistern is the sculpture of Medusa’s head at the bottom of each pillar. It is an amazing piece of sculpture from the Roman era. The Istanbul Modern Museum is the first Turkish museum dedicated to the contemporary and modern arts. In a thematic arrangement, the collection comprises the works of Turkish artists from the 20th century to present day. The lower level features exhibitions of modern Turkish photography. One can’t help but admire the imperial beauty of the Topkapi Palace. Constructed in 1460, this mansion was the residence of sultans and harems. It features sections for the palace guards and servants and artefacts of Hz. Mohammed and the Caliphs.
Wherever you go to enjoy the world’s culture, be sure to have a credit card or charge card with with you. Many credit card providers such as American Express have partnerships with companies that offer rewards in culture, entertainment, shopping and dining experiences.

Thinking of visiting Mumbai? You won’t be disappointed when it comes to things to do; in fact it is probably better to make a list of the things that you most want to do before going so that you don’t end up trying to do everything all at once. The most important thing to remember when putting together your itinerary, is to allow yourself enough time, and don’t try to squeeze too much in. India isn’t Europe, and although Mumbai is a bustling city, and one of the great financial districts in India, the pace of life is still slower, and the heat, traffic and crowds mean that you will need to give yourself more time to do things. If you need to go to the post office to send home a package, it’s more of an hour trip than a 10 minute pop in and out.

Where to start in Mumbai? Well a good place to start is to get a feel for the culture, do some people watching. The best place to do this is on the streets and in the roadside cafes where you can grab some delicious food, and at some of the street markets. Colaba Causeway for instance is a great market with all sorts of treasures, and great for last minute shopping when you need to get people at home a little something, with jewellery and scarves, shoes and bags and much more.

The two most popular street foods to try are Bhelpuri and Vada Pav. Bhelpuri is a puffed rice dish with spices, different types of vegetables and a tamarind sauce, whilst Vada Pav is a patti of mashed potato and spices and onions between two pieces of dough, with chutney, both are equally delicious. Don’t miss out on experiencing the locals eating at street side Dhabas, these were originally small restaurants dotted along highways for all night truck drivers who needed to stop for a quick bite to eat, however you will find local Dhabas in all sorts of nooks and crannies all over Mumbai, full of workers on lunchtime breaks. Try one of the many different types of Paranthas, Dosas, or Indian Thalis, all mouth watering experiences.

In Mumbai one of the first things that you will notice is that different religions, cultures, and classes all coexist alongside each other within close proximity. To experience the extreme ends of the scale, you can take a tour of the Fort District, which is the financial hub of Mumbai, and is well known for its colonial architecture, from the 19th and 20th century when the British ruled in India. This district is well maintained with some mid range to upscale restaurants. This also makes it a prime location to earn some rewards points, if you choose to pay by credit card. In fact, it may well be worth making a credit card comparison before you head to Mumbai, as you can make some great savings during your trip.

In the second part of your afternoon why not take a tour of the slums, you can get guided tours by a local, many tourists are often shocked at the extent of industry and activity in Dharavi, the well known Mumbai slum.

To continue with your educational experience, take time to visit some of Mumbai’s great temples, such as the Siddhivinayak Temple, historical sites such as the elephant caves dating back to the 5th century, and the infamous Indian Gateway. To relax and escape this pushy and bold city, make sure you visit Marine Drive and Chowpatty Beach for a beautiful sunset.

To end your trip with a bit of fun, spend a day being an extra in a Bollywood film, there are many great restaurants and cafes near to the sets, and this is where the casting agents come to look for foreigners to appear as extras in a Bollywood film, you even get a small payment for your appearance. You will also go away with a few new dance moves to show everyone back home.

Need to extend your time on the slopes? Tired of ski seasons that seem to be over before they begin? Looking for a new challenge on the slopes or just a new experience? Try glacier skiing – it is a great way to stretch your ski season. It should also be noted that glacier skiing is an option suitable to both cross-country and downhill skiers and is available in both Europe and North America.

One of the best places to try out glacier skiing is at Whistler Blackcomb in B.C., Canada. If you are a beginner, this probably isn’t for you. Blackcomb tailors its glacier skiing towards intermediate and advanced skiers. The glacier, weather permitting, opens in early June and shuts down by August.

On the Blackcomb glacier, one will find groomed trails, moguls and a terrain park. The glacier is accessed via two chairlifts that will take one to the base of Blackcomb. One will then be collected by bus and driven to the glacier terrain. The 112 acres of glacier are serviced by two t-bars.

Make sure if you do decide to undertake glacier skiing that you know and understand the risks. It is an exciting form of skiing but there are hazards such as crevasses and seracs, which form where the underlying terrain is steep or broken. A serac is formed when a glacier meets a cliff or steep slope and flows over the lip. The real danger of a serac is from walking beneath one or having it cause an avalanche. As the weather warms, pieces tend to break off at random intervals. It is best to avoid routes heavy with seracs. It is also best to avoid routes that have a lot of glacial ice, as it too can bring about avalanches.

If glacier skiing is your thing, or if you want to try it out, why not book a room at the aptly named Glaciers Reach. Located in Whistler Village North, this modern town home style accommodation offers you your very own private entrance, a landscaped inner courtyard, outdoor heated pool and hot tub, and an exercise room. It is also conveniently located near all the local amenities and chair lifts. Book early, as Whistler condos end up going fast.

Paris is one of the great cities in the World steeped in history, culture and art. If you are a first time visitor to Paris or only have a day there, then here is a list of 5 things you have to do in Paris.

Visit The Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. If you do one thing in Paris, going to the top of the Eiffel Tower and enjoying the panoramic views over Paris is it. The twilight views over Paris at night are a wonderful sight. You can also enjoy the Eiffel Tower lit up with thousands of light bulbs in a colourful light display, which briefly happens every hour after dark.

A cruise down the Seine

A boat cruise down the Seine is a romantic experience and a great way to see the landmarks of Paris including the Louvre and the Cathedrale Notre-Dame. Some cruises include dinner so you can enjoy a lovely meal in unique surroundings, a memorable experience. Perfect for a special occasion.

Visit The Louvre

The Louvre is a museum with over 35,000 items on display. It is easy to get lost wandering around seeing all there is to see. Some of the most famous works of art are displayed here including the mesmerising Mona Lisa. To do the Louvre justice, you will need to dedicate a day to wandering the different levels. Also, you should expect a large queue to get in, so wear comfy shoes and expect crowds.

Go to Moulin Rouge

Moulin Rouge located in Montmatre is another famous landmark in Paris. Wander the cobbled streets of Montmatre and admire the many art galleries in the area. Walk the cobbled steps up to the white Basilicia of Sacre Coeur and enjoy the beautiful views of Paris. Afterwards, head to the Moulin Rouge and enjoy the famous cabaret show and dancers.

Enjoy the French Cuisine

France is famous for its cuisine and there is nowhere better to try it than in Paris. There are many restaurants from famous Michelin starred establishments to traditional Parisian cafeterias. Alternatively, if you are on a budget, head to the boulangerie and pick up a baguette, some cheese and pate and enjoy a picnic under the Eiffel Tower. Finish it with some lovely French wine and coffee.

When you consider your lodging options for holidays 2012, you may not have considered villas. Villas come in many forms, and can be condos, town homes, or even deluxe homes that have a pool and all the extras. Villas offer more privacy than hotels, and typically offer a larger space. This makes them an excellent choice for families and groups that will be traveling and staying together.

There are villas available for Orlando holidays 2013. When making your selection simply consider how many people will be traveling and what type of luxuries you would like to have. If you plan to spend most of your time out on the town, then a basic space may be fine for you. However, if you spend more time in the villa, consider upgrading to an option that offers a pool, hot tub, and more.

Villas are available for Disney World holidays. Those who would rather not stay in a hotel or resort can rent these homes instead. Many are located within minutes of Disney World. Trips to Disney are often taken by large families and groups which will certainly benefit from the bargain prices that villas are often offered at. Pricing for this type of lodging can be acquired by submitting a price request online or calling a travel specialist that offers Florida villa accommodations.

If you love to eat and explore different cuisines, you are probably a fan of Chinese food. Luckily,

Chinatowns are common throughout major North American cities, so we never have to go too far to find one – but which Chinatown really has the best food? There is one Chinatown in North America that really stands out and if you ever get the chance to visit San Francisco, you’ll know why it is a must-visit.

San Francisco’s Chinatown is the oldest in North America. It can also make the claim to being the largest Chinese community outside of Asia. Now that is impressive. Really, it is a city within a city, as the residents are very serious about keeping their language, customs, religion and social clubs alive and thriving. This is as close as you are going to get to China without leaving the continent. The legitimacy of the culture here also means that the food is as authentic as you would get in China. These are a proud and strong people whose culture is reflected in the depth of their cuisine.

For a first time visitor, a trip to Chinatown will be something you will never forget. Without someone familiar with the area to show you the best places to eat, your senses will be overwhelmed trying to deal with all the amazing aromas emanating from the shops. You’ll definitely want someone to point you in the right direction and explain all the options available to you. This is why I would recommend one of the Local Tastes of the City Tours. They will make sure that your Chinatown experience is a truly memorable one and that you will get the best food possible.

Check out one of the daily Chinatown San Francisco Tours and you will get an unmatched experience that will take you beyond just the local cuisine. Your guide will take you to the best back alleys, food markets and local restaurants. Do not sacrifice your dining experiences while traveling like so many do. Make it a part of your trip and the memory of the great food will stay with you longer than any other aspect of your visit.
