THE FOUR GREAT SIGNS OF THE OLD, THE SICK,
THE DEAD AND A SERENE MONK, MADE PRINCE SIDDHATTA PONDER ABOUT THE UNSATISFACTORINESS
IN LIFE AND RENUNCIATION.
During his visit to the Royal park,
Prince Siddhatta saw the Four Great Signs, namely - an old man, a sick
man, a corpse and a serene mendicant. These made the Prince to realise
the unsatisfactoriness of life and urged him to ponder deeply about renunciation.
